Lizzy Caplan Set To Play Lead Role In Extinction
While her role on the Showtime series opposite Golden Globe-nominee Michael Sheen is probably what most viewers might know her for, Caplan has also appeared in a number of noteworthy productions for the big screen. Years before she became known to TV watchers as Virginia Johnson, she had supporting roles in such varying projects as Mean Girls, Cloverfield, Hot Tub Time Machine, and 127 Hours. More recently, she had a role in the heist sequel Now You See Me 2.
The upcoming sci-fi thriller, which is a coproduction between Universal and Good Universe, will see Caplan play the wife of Michael Pena‘s protagonist as the family – and the world – finds itself at the mercy of an alien invasion.
Comingsoon.net, the source of this story, shares the following about the movie’s production team and Caplan’s career:
Also of Mandeville, Alexander Young will serve as executive producer alongside Good Universe’s Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane. Overseeing for Universal are Erik Baiers and Mika Pryce with Erin Westerman doing so for Good Universe.
Lizzy Caplan recently finished her work on Masters of Sex with the series having concluded its four season run last fall. Caplan was also seen on the big screen last year in both Jon M. Chu’s Now You See Me 2 and in Robert Zemeckis’ Allied.
