Academy Award-nominated Revolutionary Road actor Michael Shannon and Creed star Michael B. Jordan join the cast of HBO‘s planned TV movie adaptation of Fahrenheit 451.

Shannon, of course, is known to audiences worldwide as General Zod in Man of Steel, a role that he reprised in a brief cameo for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Jordan, on the other hand, has had roles in The Wire, All My Children, Red Tails, and is set to appear as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther.

In regards to the proposed Ray Bradbury novel adaptation, Jordan will play fireman Guy Montag, whose life is changed when a neighbor of his makes him question his commitment to burning books on behalf of the state. As for Shannon, he will portray Beatty, a fire captain and superior of Montag., the source of this story, shares the following description of the original novel:

Here is the official book description: “Montag never questions the destruction and ruin his actions produce, returning each day to his bland life and wife, Mildred, who spends all day with her television “family.” But then he meets an eccentric young neighbor, Clarisse, who introduces him to a past where people didn’t live in fear and to a present where one sees the world through the ideas in books instead of the mindless chatter of television.
