Fathers and Daughters Trailer and Poster

Fathers & Daughters Trailer Released. Gabriele Muccino‘s Fathers & Daughters (2015) movie trailer stars Russell CroweAmanda SeyfriedAaron Paul, and Diane KrugerFathers & Daughters‘ plot synopsis: “A Pulitzer-winning writer grapples with being a widower and father after a mental breakdown, while, 27 years later, his grown daughter struggles to forge connections of her own.”

The trailer for Fathers & Daughters looks like a standard, sentimental drama. I’m into it, provided the father/daughter relationship stands up on its own, and the schmalz is kept to a minimum. The trailer doesn’t provide much confidence for either of those things to work out, however. After all, this is from the director of Seven Pounds. I’m just not convinced this will turn out to be anything other than a hallmark card for people who like their heartstrings pulled by Old Man Crowe’s love for his daughter. We’ll see!

For now, take a look at this poster. Thoughts? Looks pretty bland and simple to me. Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just…not that exciting.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
