FEAR THE WALKING DEAD: Season 1 Premiere Sets TV Rating’s Record [AMC]

Fear The Walking Dead Cast

Fear the Walking Dead Sets cable Premiere Record. AMC‘s Fear the Walking Dead: Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot had the number season premiere in history. Fear the Walking Dead‘s premiere beat the season premiere of The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul. Fear the Walking Dead premiered last Sunday with the number one cable series premiere episode at 10.1 million viewers, including 6.3 million adults 18-49. The season one premiere of Fear the Waking Dead had higher ratings than ever episode of first two seasons of The Walking Dead.

Many have described the first episode of Fear The Walking as a “slow burn,” as it shows the world (the normal world) just before the zombie outbreak began. This lack of action did not hinder fans from watching and then re-watching the first episode. Before the episode aired, fans and potential fans of Fear the Walking Dead even tuned in for the per-empetive episode of Talking Dead. Talking Dead had 1.9 million viewers in 18-49-year-olds and 4.2 million viewers in total last Sunday.

Fear The Walking Dead’s plot synopsis: “Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.”

Fear The Walking Dead stars Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Colman Domingo, Lorenzo James Henrie, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Toni French, Patricia Reyes Spíndola, and Sandrine Holt.
