Brant Dougherty cast in Fifty Shades Freed. Brant Dougherty has been cast in Fifty Shades Freed (2018), the third movie in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James revealed yesterday. Dougherty will play Luke Sawyer, a bodyguard hired by Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) to protect Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).
This news about the series’ third installment comes a year ahead of the release of Fifty Shades Darker (2017), the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey. Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to hit theaters February 10, 2017, with Fifty Shades Freed slated to premiere almost exactly a year later, on February 9, 2018. Fifty Shades Darker has just begun filming, and director James Foley plans to film the second and third installments of the series back-to-back. Surely more casting news is soon to come as production gets underway.
