Son of ShaftA Bittersweet Life, Maniac, and other films and TV shows have made recent casting news.

Justin Theroux has signed onto Netflix’s upcoming series Maniac. A veteran of big and small screens alike, Theroux has acted in such productions as Mulholland Drive, Wanderlust, Iron Man 2, and The Leftovers. He will play the role of James Mantleray and joins a cast that includes Jonah Hill and Emma Stone, who will also serve as an executive producer on the program.

A Bittersweet Life

Michael B. Jordan is set to act in Jennifer Yuh Nelson’s film A Bittersweet Life. Nelson herself has just been tapped to helm the film, which is intended as a remake of the 2005 Korean drama of the same name. Jordan has appeared in such movies as Creed, the Fantastic Four reboot, and is set to feature in the upcoming Black Panther.

Son Of Shaft

Jesse T. Usher will headline New Line Cinema’s planned movie Son of Shaft.

Mary Queen Of Scots

Gemma Chan is slated to play Bess of Hardwick in the historical drama Mary Queen of Scots.

Outlaw King

Billy Howle has joined the cast of director David Mackenzie’s planned historical film for Netflix Outlaw King.
