Alone In Berlin

Emma Thompson, Daniel Bruhl, Mary Rylance to star in Vincent Perez’s Alone In Berlin, a fact-based WWII story about German parents who, after their son is killed on the front lines, begin anti-Hitler postcards hammering his evil regime. It becomes a cat and mouse game to stay a step ahead of the Gestapo.

The Trust

Nicolas Cage and Jack Huston will star in The Trust, a crime thriller directed by Alex and Ben Brewer that will be sold at Cannes by Highland Film Group. Two evil cops discover a hidden and guarded safe and their greed leads them to a well of corruption and double crossing.

Den Of Thieves

Relativity said Gerard Butler is set to star in the heist drama now titled Den Of Thieves. Christian Gudegast is set to direct and write the film from a script written by Gudegast and Paul Scheuring.

The Greens Are Gone

Catherine Keener is set to star in The Greens Are Gone as the matriarch of a dysfunctional family who’s pushed to her tipping point by the disappearance of her son, to be played by Anton Yelchin. Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka will play Keener’s bipolar daughter, and Riley Keough and newcomer Annie Starke will play Keener’s troubled grown daughters. Peer Pedersen makes his directorial debut with the pic…Cary Elwes, Lois Smith, and Ryan Eggold also have  been cast.

Viral (Dimension Films)

Linzie Gray…has…been cast in the Blumhouse Productions, IM Global, and Dimension Films horror pic Viral as Gracie, the best friend of Emma (Sofia Black-D’Elia) who starts exhibiting symptoms when a deadly virus starts making its way around town. Analeigh Tipton also stars in the pic directed by Catfish and Paranormal Activity 3 and 4 helmers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost from the Black List script by Barbara Marshall and rewrite by Disturbia‘s Christopher Landon.

Pitch Perfect 2 (Universal Pictures)

[Katey Sagal] is the latest to join Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Films’ musical sequel Pitch Perfect 2, which Pitch Perfect producer Elizabeth Banks is helming in her directorial debut…Sagal…will play the mother of new cast member Hailee Steinfeld‘s character in the sequel, which returns original pic stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, and Adam DeVine.

The Bringing

Nicolas Winding Refn is in early talks to direct The Bringing, the horror movie spec by Brandon and Phillip Murphy that Sony Pictures acquired in a competitive bidding battle in February. Matt Tolmach is producing with First Born Films’ Daniela Cretu.

A Walk In The Woods

Mary Steenburgen has been cast in A Walk In The Woods…which stars Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, Nick Offerman, Kristen Schaal, and Emma Thompson…Steenburgen will play an alluring motel proprietress named Jeannie who tempts Bryson (Redford) when he and Katz (Nolte) stop into her establishment for the night.

Kidnap

Luis Prieto (Pusher) is directing action thriller Kidnap with Halle Berry starring as a mother who will stop at nothing to rescue her abducted son. Knate Gwaltney wrote the script for the project that’s a female twist on Taken. Di Bonaventura Pictures’ Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Erik Howsam are producing.
