Brain On Fire

Thomas Mann and Jenny Slate are in talks to join Dakota Fanning in Brain On Fire. Glassland’s Gerard Barrett is directing his scripted adaptation of the Susannah Cahalan’s bestselling memoir Brain On Fire: My Month Of Madness, with Fanning playing the author during a terrifying and sudden descent into insanity as the result of a mysterious illness.

A United Kingdom

Amma Asante has come aboard to direct A United Kingdom, a racial drama that has David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike in negotiations to star.

Written by Guy Hibbert, the script tells the true story of Seretse Khama, a member of the royal family in the country of Bechuanaland, a former English colony and south African nation that would one day become Botswana, with Khama serving as the country’s first president. But prior to that, Khama sparked international outrage when he married a white woman in 1948. He survived a deposition attempt by his uncle, only to face opposition from South Africa, where interracial marriage was illegal, which forced Great Britain to ban him from his home country in 1951.

Vincent D’Onofrio…is in negotiations to play the bad guy in CHiPs

D’Onofrio will play the auto-stealing ringleader, a ruthless former cop.

Coco

Azealia Banks…has just landed her first starring role in a feature film. She’ll play the title character in Coco, a drama…that will be directed by Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA. She stars with Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint and Hana Mae Lee. It has a script from Nicole Jefferson Asher

In the Brooklyn-set drama, Banks plays an aspiring twentysomething rapper who wants a career in hip-hop but is torn by her parents’ dreams that she finish college. She gives in. While matriculating, she finds herself in the classroom; she experiences the true calling of the power of the spoken word, which helps her goals as a hip-hop artist.

Jonny Quest

The studio has set Robert Rodriguez to direct the film, and he and Terry Rossio are rewriting a Dan Mazeau draft that made the Black List.

Jonny is the kid who accompanied his scientist father, their bodyguard Race Bannon and Jonny’s pal Hadji on a series of global adventures that always involved some evil conspiracy that forced Jonny to work his way out of danger.
