Lily James and Sam Riley and Australia’s Bella Heathcote have been set to lead the film

Burr Steers (Igby Goes Down, Charlie St Cloud) is directing from a screenplay by David O. Russell and Steers.

A Wrinkle in Time

Jennifer Lee is set to adapt A Wrinkle in Time, the 1962 novel by Madeleine L’Engle.

She takes over A Wrinkle in Time from Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia), who wrote the first draft.

The Last Witch Hunter

Elijah Wood…has just signed on for The Last Witch Hunter, from The Craziers director Breck Eisner.

He’s the latest addition to an eclectic and intriguing cast that also includes Vin Diesel, Michael Caine, and Rose Leslie.

Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama scripted The Last Witch Hunter based on a pitch by Cory Goodman.

Diesel plays the lead, an immortal witch hunter from a long and proud tradition of witch hunters. When the covens of New York City join forces to unleash a plague on humanity, Diesel’s character must join forces with the enemy — specifically, the witch played by Leslie — to stop them.

Kickboxer

Scott Adkins and Tony Jaa have stepped into the arena for the reboot of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1989 actioner “Kickboxer.”

The duo is joining previously announced stars Dave Batista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), former UFC welterweight champion George St-Pierre and Alain Moussi (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”).

Stephen Fung (“Tai Chi Zero”) is directing. The story follows Moussi’s character, who travels to Thailand where he must learn the secrets of kickboxing to avenge his brother’s death.

Lost in Austen

Carrie Brownstein has come on board to write a “Lost in Austen” movie, based on the original U.K. series.
