Live By Night

Anthony Michael Hall has joined the cast of Ben Affleck‘s “Live By Night.”

Hall will play a Southern bootlegger who tangles with Affleck’s Joe Coughlin, the son of a prominent police captain who enters a world of organized crime that takes him from Boston to Florida and Havana, Cuba.

Brendan Gleeson has joined Live By Night…Gleeson will play the father of Affleck and Eastwood’s characters in the Prohibition era drama.

Battle of the Sexes

Emma Stone is now set to play Billie Jean King opposite Steve Carell as Bobby Riggs in Fox Searchlight’s “Battle of the Sexes” after briefly walking away from the project

Stone attached herself to play King back in April, though a scheduling conflict forced Fox Searchlight to approach Brie Larson to play the tennis legend as recently as September. With Larson moving on to replace Jennifer Lawrence in “The Glass Castle,” her schedule no longer allowed for “Battle of the Sexes,” and Fox Searchlight went back to Stone to secure the actress’ participation.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan

Bella Thorne is set to join Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain and Taylor Kitsch in Xavier Dolan‘s first English-language feature “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan,” TheWrap has learned.

Harington will play the title character, while Chastain co-stars as the editor-in-chief of a gossip magazine. Thorne will play Chastain’s assistant.

Oscar winners Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates co-star alongside Michael Gambon, Chris Zylka and Emily Hampshire, while singer Adele has also agreed to cameo in the film

Empress of Serenity

Bill Hader is set to star in Jesse Andrews’ directorial debut ‘ “Empress of Serenity”

“Empress of Serenity” follows a man (Hader) who embarks on a cruise to bond with his father, who helps his son deal with intimacy issues.


Alexandra Daddario has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming “Baywatch” movie remake.
