[Hailee Steinfeld] will star in The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight from writer-director-exec producer Dustin Lance Black (Milk)….the film follows Hadley (Hailee Steinfeld) over a 24-hour period. What first looks like a rotten day as she waits in an airport for a flight to London for her father’s second wedding brightens up when she meets a young British chap. Turns out they’re seated together on the plane, and sparks fly.

Meet The Man Who Sold His Fate To Investors At $1 A Share

a starring and directing vehicle for Jason Bateman…[He will] play a man who found a novel commodity for a public offering: himself. It created a host of problems for the actual guy, Mike Merrill, when shareholders demanded control over life decisions like whether to have a vasectomy or even whether he should move in with his longtime girlfriend (and minority shareholder).

IPO Man, will be scripted by Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster

Merrill got into an IPO niche that usually allows investors to pony up money for a cut of someone’s future earnings, for instance. Merrill put himself on the block at $1 per share for 100,000 shares, and sold 928 of them. He started as a curiosity, with friends, family members and his girlfriend buying in. He made it interesting in that even though he still owned the majority of himself, he made that non-voting stock, meaning his investors could decide how he would conduct himself professionally, like when he got a thumbs up on his decision to invest $79.63 in a Rwandan chicken farmer. The controls veered into his personal life and he lost his girlfriend, who felt like the loser in a takeover battle. Same majority shareholders then exerted input in his future attempts at a romantic merger (he was even set up with a guy at one point). He was still allowing his investors to call the shot when the article ended.

Sony untitled NFL concussion drama

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is…joining Will Smith in the studio’s untitled NFL concussion drama…He’ll play real-life NFL safety Dave Duerson, a three-time Pro Bowl pick who died in 2011 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. At his request, Duerson’s brain was sent to researchers, who determined that the athlete had suffered from the debilitating symptoms of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) caused by his football injuries.

Black Panther

Chadwick Boseman will be the first African-American superhero to lead a stand-alone Marvel tentpole in 2017’s Black Panther. I hear he’s signed a lucrative five-film deal that begins with 2016’s Captain America: Civil War continues through Marvel’s just-unveiled Phase 3 lineup.

Replicas

Keanu Reeves [will] headline Replicas, from director Tanya Wexler…Scripted by Chad St. John…Company Films’ partners Hamel and Reeves developed the script based on Hamel’s treatment.

After a car accident kills his loving family, a daring neuroscientist will stop at nothing to bring them back, even if it means pitting himself against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force, and the physical laws of science themselves.

Voight will portray Hall’s father, with whom he reconciles thanks to the revelations of his new life.

The 9th Life Of Louis Drax

Oliver Platt, Molly Parker, Barbara Hershey and Aiden Longworth are joining Jamie Dornan, Aaron Paul and Sarah Gadon in The 9th Life Of Louis Drax. Alexandre Aja (Horns) is directing

Platt (X-Men: First Class, Chef, Frost/Nixon) plays Louis Drax’s psychologist, Dr. Perez; Molly Parker (House Of Cards, The Road) is Detective Dalton; Barbara Hershey (Black Swan, Falling Down) plays Violet, Louis’ grandmother; and Aiden Longworth (Hector And The Search for Happiness, A Christmas Story 2) takes on the title role of Louis Drax.

Based on Liz Jensen’s bestselling novel, the film picks up on Louis Drax’s 9th birthday, when he miraculously survives a near fatal fall. His doctor Allan Pascal (Dornan) finds himself tangled between his professional responsibility and his growing affections for the boy’s mother (Gadon). When Louis’ father (Paul) comes under suspicion, Pascal realizes other mysterious forces may be at work.

Five Minutes to Live

Wesley Snipes will star in a remake of crime-drama “Five Minutes to Live” with Chuck Russell directing.

The 1961 movie starred Johnny Cash and Vic Tayback as two thieves who conspire to rob a bank and hold the bank manager’s wife hostage.

Russell wrote the script with Raul Sanchez-Inglis.

Love Is All You Need?

“Pretty Little Liars” actor Tyler Blackburn has joined the cast of the indie “Love Is All You Need.”

He joins Emily Osment and Jeremy Sisto in the cast that Kim Rocco Shields is directing.
