Shaft, Gambit, Captain Marvel, and Other Film Casting News

Shaft, Gambit, Captain Marvel, and other films have made recent film casting, screenwriting, and director news. These films come from movie studios primarily based in the United States and abroad. The castings, screenwriters, and directors are subject to change.

Captain Marvel

Jude Law has been cast as Dr. Walter Lawson, who is secretly a Kree agent Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel. Dr. Walter Lawson is a co-worker of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), who eventually becomes her mentor.

Law joins already cast Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn in the Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck-directed film.

Captain Marvel will be released in U.S. theaters through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on March 6, 2019.

Shaft

Alexandra Shipp has been cast in an unspecified role.

Shipp joins already cast Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Roundtree, and Jesse T. Usher in the Tim Story-directed film.

Kenya Barris wrote the script for the film.

Neftlix will stream Shaft outside of the U.S. once [New Line Cinema] gives it a theatrical release in the United States.

Gambit

Lizzy Caplan has been cast as Bella Donna Boudreaux, “the daughter of the leader of the New Orleans Assassins’ Guild and Remy LeBeau’s first love.”

Gambit will be released in U.S. theaters through 20th Century Fox on February 14, 2019.

Two/One

Dominique McElligott, Beau Bridges, Zhu Zhu, and Song Yang have been cast in unspecified roles.

The actresses and actor join already cast Boyd Holbrook.

Two/One was written and will be directed by Juan Cabral.

Two/One‘s plot synopsis: “it follows Kaden, a world-class ski jumper in Whistler, Canada presented with the chance of reconnecting with his teenage sweetheart, and Khai, a corporate executive in Shanghai, China faced with the fact that the woman he fantasizes about on the internet now works in his office. The two men go about their lives, while one is awake, the other is asleep. They are, in some strange way, the same person. The question is what happens if they were ever to meet?”
