The Boy Who Drew Monsters New Line has just picked up the rights to The Boy Who Drew Monsters...and James Wan will produce the big screen adaptation. So what’s the book about? Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing will be writing The Boy Who Drew Monsters movie Wildling Bel Powley will star in Fritz Bohm’s Wildling alongside Liv Tyler The story centers on young Anna (Bel Powley) who spends her entire childhood in a single room under the care of a mysterious man she only knows as “Daddy” (Brad Dourif). He makes her fear the “Outside” by telling her of the “Wildling”, a creature with sharp teeth and claws who roams about eating little children. At age 16, Anna is freed by small-town sheriff Ellen Champney (Liv Tyler) with whom she finds a temporary home. For the first time in her life, Anna experiences the Outside, soon learning there’s no such thing as the Wildling. But as she begins to flourish as a young woman, a series of unsettling events unfolds. James LeGros will portray the Wolf Man, an eccentric shaman who lives in the forest. German director Fritz Bohm makes his feature debut...Bohm also co-wrote the screenplay along with Florian Eder and David C. Palmer. Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock Channing Tatum and the Weinstein Co. have set Mike Vukadinovich to write Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock, the feature project that sees Tatum make his directorial debut alongside Reid Carolin. The project is an adaptation of Matthew Quick’s YA book of the same name about a high school student who plans to kill his best friend and then himself. In addition to co-directing and co-producing his Free Association banner and along with the company’s Peter Kiernan, Tatum would also potentially star as a brave teacher who tries to intervenes. Freak Show Trudie Styler will produce and direct the film adaptation of James St. James best-seller Freak Show which already has Bette Midler, AnnaSophia Robb, Ian Nelson and Lorraine Toussaint on board. Freak Show tells the story of Billy Bloom, a funny, good-hearted, cross-dressing teen who becomes the new student at an ultra-conservative high school. Although accosted with Bible thumpers, the jocks, the bullies, Billy takes a stand. Determined to be who he is and not bow to peer pressure, he refuses to change his outlandish outfits or behavior. Instead, he decides to run for Homecoming Queen for outcasts and underdogs everywhere. Midler is set to play Muv, Billy’s mother. Robb and Nelson will play Billy’s friends ‘Blah Blah Blah’ and ‘Flip,’ while Toussaint portrays Billy’s nanny, Flossie. Thor: Ragnarok Taika Waititi...is in negotiations with Marvel to direct Thor: Ragnarok Waititi...will be directing a script by Thor: The Dark World co-scribe Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, Marvel’s SVP Production and Development, recruiting to the scribe side by Marvel boss Kevin Feige. Robert Wagner is joining Noomi Rapace, Glenn Close and Willem Dafoe on the sci-fi action thriller What Happened To Monday? Wagner will play Charles Benning, a respected TV newsman in the vein of Edward R. Murrow. The cast is rounded out by Philippe Rousselet Marwan Kenzari, Christian Rubeck and Pal Sverre Hagen.
