Kirk Acevedo has been added to the cast of The CW’s Arrow for its upcoming sixth season. Acevedo will play the character Ricardo Diaz, better known as the underworld fighter Richard Dragon. Interestingly, the character started off as a hero in the original comics but was retooled as a villain for DC’s New 52. The next season of the show will begin airing on October 12th. Fans of Fringe will recognize Acevedo as Charlie Francis from the first season of the J.J. Abrams sci-fi series.

The Picture Of Dorian Gray

Annie Clark has been tapped to helm the latest adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. Better known by the name St. Vincent, the musician-turned-director previously contributed a segment to the independent horror anthology XX. Based on a script to be written by David Birke, the movie will feature a female in the lead role.


Joy Nash will play the lead role in AMC’s planned drama Dietland.


Shawn Christian, Lou Ferrigno Jr., Sabina Gadecki, Allison Gregory, and Ava Capri have signed onto the indie feature Trapped.


Gina Torres will reprise her Suits role as Jessica Pearson for a proposed spin-off series.
