TolkienDestination WeddingHellboy, and other films and TV shows have made recent casting news.

These productions come from studios based primarily in the United States. The castings are subject to change.

Hellboy

Penelope Mitchell has been added to the cast of Neil Marshall’s planned Hellboy reboot. Mitchell has acted in such productions as Zipper, Curve, Hemlock Grove, and is set to appear in the Nicholas Cage film Between Worlds. She will play an elderly witch named Ganeida who tries to end the villain’s reign of terror. Her casting comes in the wake of the addition and subsequent stepping down of Ed Skrein from the project, with Skrein leaving the production after fans complained that the character he was supposed to play was Japanese in the comics.

Destination Wedding

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder have both signed onto writer and director Victor Levin’s romantic comedy Destination Wedding. Both Reeves and Ryder are fondly remembered for their early roles in classic films of the 80’s and 90’s. They have also been the subject of renewed interest following their involvement with more recent projects such as John Wick in Reeves’ case and Stranger Things in Ryder’s.

Tolkien

Lily Collins will act alongside Nicholas Hoult in the biopic Tolkien.

Boy Erased

Cherry Jones and Flea will play roles in Boy Erased.

SEAL Team

Judd Lormand has been cast in CBS’s drama SEAL Team.

Believe it or not, there are occasions where I find time to write for my own leisure.
