Van Helming, Bride of FrankensteinThe Batman, and other films and TV shows have made recent casting news.

These productions come from studios based primarily in the United States. The castings are subject to change.

The Batman

Warner Bros is reportedly looking for an actor to replace Ben Affleck in The Batman. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck is unhappy with the direction the DC Extended Universe has taken so far and the studio wants to be ready to have someone else play the Dark Knight in case the Argo star steps down from the role. This story is far from confirmed however, with Warner Bros. denying that there are any tensions between them and Affleck.

Van Helsing

Universal Pictures is said to be considering Channing Tatum for the title role in their Dark Universe reboot of Van Helsing. Production on the film is expected to be much slower in the wake of The Mummy‘s less than ideal performance.

Bride Of Frankenstein

Angelina Jolie is reportedly the frontrunner to star in Universal’s planned monster movie Bride of Frankenstein. Charlize Theron is also said to be a contender for the role.

Neil Jackson and Jonathan Tucker are both set to appear in the second season of HBO’s Westworld.

Todd MacFarlane has reportedly been tapped to write and direct the proposed Spawn reboot.
