Film-Book Announcements: Film-Book 2.0, DISQUS Comments, Blog Roll

film-book-annoucement-2.0-header

Hey everyone. I thought I’d take this time to address a couple of changes that have taken place on the site some weeks ago. All of you will have noticed that the sites main theme has changed , dramatically, to a more professional look. The mom and pop look has “fallen into shadow”, RSS Feed and Email Subscription sign ups are now easier, the site is fast, less glitchy, and Film-Book Sponsors now get top billing on the sidebar. I do miss the rotating 760×200 banners though. We will try to reintegrate it in the future.

Some of you may have noticed by that we now have a brand new comment system powered by DISQUS. Talk about great customer service, even though its free. You tweet them and they put their best foot forward to solve it. We chose DISQUS because it was a clean, presentable system and because of the log in options. You can also now sign in to comment using your Facebook or Twitter accounts if signing in through DISQUS is too cumbersome.

The Blog Roll that was present at the bottom of the old version of the site and during the beginning of 2.0 has been moved to Networks tab under the heading Film-Book dot Com Film Links. This was done to better utilize the limited place on the front page of our website.

  1. I think this debate will rage on until there is a new platform where everyone can comment freely, disqus may have the solution for that, only time will tell.
    I like this system.

  2. I liked the new Disqus commenting system.
I theme of the site is quite professional with dedicated ad areas which separates the main content of the website from ads.

  3. This is a very good move as it will increase the number of comments posted on this blog and it will also help with SEO as fresh content will help rank better on Search engines.

  4. Disqus is user friendly commenting plug-in.Disqus has ability to import existing comments as well as export comments. I didn't lose any comments when I moved to Disqus..

  5. Disqus is too great commenting plug-in and it is provides tight integration with Blogger, WordPress, Typepad, MT and Tumblr.
