Set in the insular world of Venice, Calif., it’s the serio-comic story of a self-appointed “guru,” Chip, who falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel.

Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of original content released a statement saying,

We are thrilled to be the home of Will Arnett’s next series and look forward to Chip joining his repertoire alongside such diverse and inspirational characters as Gob, Bojack and Batman

Will Arnett is making himself a major player in Netflix’s move to reinvent the modern television network model. Arnett played the eponymous lead character Bojack Horseman in 2014’s Netflix exclusive Bojack Horseman and reprised his role as Job Bluth in the 2013 return of the beloved series Arrested Development. Could Will Arnett become to Netflix what Johnny Depp is to Tim Burton? Let us know in the comments section.
