FUTURE WORLD: Milla Jovovich Joins Indie Sci-Fi Film

Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich signs on to the cast of Future World. The Fifth Element and Resident Evil star will play a role in the planned independent science fiction from director and star James Franco.

Jovovich has been very busy on-screen as of late. Returning to the popular sci-fi/horror franchise, she is set to reprise her lead role of Alice in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which hits theaters in January of 2017. More recently, she resumed playing the role of Katinka in Zoolander 2, the sequel to the original 2001 comedy.

Cast as a drug lord in her latest project, Jovovich’s character will find herself in a post-apocalyptic environment beset by unbearable heat, virulent diseases, and unending war. The name of her character is unknown at this point.

With a story by Franco, Future World promises to be an exciting project with an interesting story:

The project, written by Cheung, Jay Davis and Jeremy Cheung, follows a young boy of noble birth who embarks on a journey through the wasteland of this future world in order to find medicine for his dying mother. Armed with his faithful bodyguard and only a slim hope that this medicine actually exists, he must forge courageously on, facing danger and ultimately the Warlord of this world who has plans of his own as he takes control of a beautiful, life-like robot assassin.

Singer-actor George Lewis Jr, known as Twin Shadow, has also been cast in the role of Ratcatcher.
