G.I. JOE 2: COBRA STRIKES (2012): Adrianne Palicki Cast

Adrianne Palicki, Lady Jaye

Adrianne Palicki has been cast in G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. Adrianne Palicki joining Jon M. Chu‘s G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes (2012) answers the question of who will play the female lead since Rachel Nichols was not re-signed to reprise her role from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which we reviewed here: Film Review: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

Adrianne Palicki, “repped by UTA, Anonymous Content and David Fox”, will be bringing to the life the G.I. Joe character of Lady Jaye/Alison R. Hart-Burnett.

For those of you who do not know who Lady Jaye is:

Lady Jaye is the G.I. Joe Team’s covert operations specialist. Her real name is Alison R. Hart-Burnett, and her rank is that of Staff Sergeant E-6. Lady Jaye was born on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. She is a Bryn Mawr graduate, and also did graduate work in Trinity College in Dublin, before graduating from intelligence school at Fort Holabird. She is Airborne and Ranger qualified, and an expert with the M-16, M-1911A1 auto pistol, and reflex crossbow. She is also an accomplished actress and fluent in several languages. She has a knack for impersonation, right down to the subject’s voice and mannerisms.

Why all the quick casting for G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes by Paramount Pictures?:

they need the film for next summer because the Star Trek sequel won’t be ready and this rebooted film and World War Z are prime candidates to fill summer slots.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wrote the script for G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing it.

Adrianne Palicki joins a G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes cast that already includes Dwayne Johnson, D.J. Cotrona, Elodie Yung, Byung-hun Lee, Channing Tatum, Ray Park, and RZA.

What do you think of this casting? I wish Rachel Nichols was reprising her role as well as Sienna Miller. For Adrianne Palicki’s part, at least all of her physical training for NBC’s canceled Wonder Woman (2011), written about here: Wonder Woman (2011): Canceled by NBC: Adrianne Palicki, David Kelley, will not go to waste.
