G.I. JOE 3: Film May Have Found A New Director

D.J. Caruso In Talks For G.I. Joe 3. D.J. Caruso is currently in talks to direct the third installment in the G.I. Joe movie franchise. Caruso whose previous directorial work includes Disturbia and I Am Number Four was brought into negotiations after G.I. Joe Retaliation director Jon M. Chu left the production to direct the big screen adaptation of the Jem And The Holograms television series.

 At this point, all the G.I. Joe franchise is looking for in a director is a warm body to tell the cameraman where to point and shoot. Despite abysmal critical receptions, the previous two films in the franchise have raked in over half a billion dollars at the box office and despite its lack of artistic merit, you can be sure that Paramount is not finished milking every last drop out of this cash cow.

GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra (Directed By Stephen Sommers)

Armed with the latest in military and spy technology, the team of elite soldiers known as G.I. Joe travel around the globe to wherever their services are needed. In their latest assignment Gen. Hawk (Dennis Quaid), Duke (Channing Tatum) and the rest of the G.I. Joe team take on Destro (Christopher Eccleston), a corrupt arms dealer, and fight the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization.

GI Joe: Retaliation (Directed By Jon M. Chu)

In the continuing adventures of the G.I. Joe team, Duke (Channing Tatum), second-in-command Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson), and the rest of the Joes (D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee) face a two-fold threat. Not only is their mortal enemy COBRA rearing its ugly head again, but there is also a threat from within the U.S. government: There might be an impostor in the White House. Meanwhile, Snake Eyes (Ray Park) is on a search for inner peace but learns that his nemesis, Storm Shadow, is still alive.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who played the role of Roadblock is rumoured to be returning for the next film. Jonathan Lemkin and Evan Daugherty are writing the script. There is currently no scheduled release date.
