Game of Thrones: Season 8 Will Air in 2019

HBO has announced that eighth and finale season of Game of Thrones will premiere in 2019. Season 8 of Game of Thrones will be six episodes long but since the season is truncated, the episodes are expected to longer in length, like those in Season 7.

If I had to guess, I would expect each episode to be over an hour long, especially the finale episode.

With Season 8 being the finale season of Game of Thrones, Game of Thrones‘ writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are getting behind the camera to direct. The duo has directed two episodes of Game of Thrones in the past: Walk of Punishment and Two Swords.

David Nutter is directing an undisclosed number of episodes in the finale season. Nutter directed six episodes of Game of Thrones in the past: The Old Gods and the New, A Man Without Honor, The Rains of Castamere, Mysa, The Dance of Dragons, and Mother’s Mercy.
