GHOST IN THE SHELL (2017): First Image of Scarlett Johansson in Film As Production Begins

Scarlett Johansson Ghost in the Shell

First Look at Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell As Studio Starts Production. To celebrate the start of production for DreamWorks film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, they unveiled our first image of Scarlett Johansson as the main lead known as The Major.

With filming about to start for Paramount’s live-action Ghost in the Shell movie, we get our first glimpse at the Captain America: Civil War actress in her attire as main character Major Motoko Kusanagi or just The Major as she’s known in the official synopsis. Released from ComicBookMovie, she appears to have the same look as the main character from the beloved manga and anime series. The question remains if she can act as emotionless and fearsome as her animated counterpart. There’s also the issue with the casting, as fans have criticized the studio for hiring a white actress to play a part of an Asian woman. We don’t know if that will be the case for this film, but we can’t deny Scarlett’s ability to bring the characters she plays to live so well.
