Ever since the release of details stating that the upcoming Ghostbusters film intended to “gender swap” the lead characters, the project has been at the center of a great deal of online controversy. In the original movie, the prominent female roles were for a damsel in distress/love interest and the Ghostbuster’s secretary. It will be interesting to see if the male lead’s role in the film will get to work alongside the ladies or be a helpless victim that needs saving.
