G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Cast Pictures
- View Comments
You had the appetizer, now here is the main course. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is set “ten years in the future, the film is an origin story, showing the rise of the Cobra Organization. Stephen Sommers said, ‘For people who know nothing about it, it’ll make sense. And to people who love this stuff, it’ll show where they all came from.’ The film focuses on Duke and Ripcord’s induction into the G.I. Joe Team, providing the audience’s point-of-view.” Sounds good on paper but lets wait and see the first few trailers. Love the fact that Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols are in this film. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra opens on August 7, 2009.
Dennis Quaid as General Clayton M. Abernathy / Hawk
Karolína Kurková as Courtney A. Kreiger / Cover Girl
Channing Tatum as First Sergeant Conrad S. Hauser / Duke
Marlon Wayans as Wallace A. Weems / Ripcord
Sienna Miller as Baroness Anastasia DeCobray / The Baroness
Rachel Nichols as Shana M. O’Hara / Scarlett

Sad that Storm Shadow isnt dressed as a ninja but then again a ninja dressed in white cant exactly hide but then again wearing a big white trenchcoat isnt ninja either.Like Transformers, I’ll wait to see it in motion, but let’s be honest GiJoe went off into extreme goofiness with its various characters, guys dressed like Bruce Lee fighting alongside wolves and eagles and football players and wrestlers.

@ Fletch. They ruined the appeal of all of them by dressing them up in suits analogous to the X-Men’s uniforms. How about, oh, I don’t know, MILITARY UNIFORMS. They can still wear body armor over them.
@Harosa. You’re right lets wait and see. Let’s hope Snake Eyes isn’t in that outfit for the whole movie also. By the way, how could someone who doesn’t talk hold a rank in the military? How does Snake Eyes give orders? How does he give Situation Reports?April 25th, 2008 at 5:13 pm - Harosa said:

I think nick furry and ripcord have a very simaler problem. It mist be the reverse of Mikael Jackson where in stead of a blak man turning white they are white men with extra color. How does that happen I think I remmember ripcord as a white man with red head. Noe one eles may care, but if x-man cast Logan as a black man people would not like it. If your gonna spend the buck to make the movie at least cast it characters right! I like Snake eyes! I like scarlett! cover girl stormshadow hevy duty is cool. If you need another black man get road Block! don’t get me wrong its not a race issue its a get the characters right issue. Hawk… ok but he looks more like flint or with that head gear on

Ripcord being cast black is minor because Ripcord is a minor character. If you’re going to take issue with color, take issue with Angelina Jolie being cast as The Fox in Wanted. In the comic, The Fox is black.
By the way, Hawk does look like Flint with that head gear on.

Loved to read your blog. I would like to suggest you that traffic show most people read blogs on Mondays. So it should encourage bloggers to write new write ups over the weekend primarily.
