The Gifted Trailer 3 from Comic-Con 2017

The third TV show trailer for Fox‘s The Gifted has been released at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con International. This The Gifted trailer (unlike the two previous trailers) lets the viewer know exactly which semi-famous mutants are in this TV show. They include: Polaris (Emma Dumont), Blink (Jamie Chung), Thunderbird (Blair Redford), and Eclipse (Sean Teale). This trailer does include new footage but it concerns two key incidents: 1.) the school dance and the Strucker children coming out to their parents that they are mutants and 2.) the established mutants that are already on the run eventually deciding to defend the Strucker teens.

What The Gifted seems to lack is the one central, recognizable name for comic book fans and the narrative to rally around. In Gotham they had Detective James Gordon. In The Gifted, they don’t have that recognizable name. Hopefully this oversight will be addressed during the first season of The Gifted.

The Gifted also stars Percy Hynes White, Natalie Alyn Lind, Stephen Moyer, Jamie Chung, Sean Teale, Blair Redford, and Amy Acker.

The Gifted‘s plot synopsis: “The Gifted will focus on two ordinary parents (Moyer and Acker) who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”
