Vera Farmiga To Play Role In Godzilla: King Of Monsters

Academy Award-nominated Up in the Air star Vera Farmiga has joined the cast of Michael Dougherty‘s giant monster movie sequel Godzilla: King of Monsters.

Farmiga is far from a stranger to the world of monsters. Indeed, just last year she had a leading role in James Wan‘s highly-successful The Conjuring 2 alongside Patrick Wilson, reprising her role as paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren from the first film. Other projects within the horror and thriller genres that the actress has appeared in include 2009’s The Orphan and A&E‘s Bates Motel series, the latter of which saw her receive an Emmy Award nomination for her performance as Norma Louise Bates.

She is set to portray the mother of Millie Bobby Brown‘s character in the Godzilla follow-up, with Super 8‘s Kyle Chandler also slated to play her husband.

Superherohype, the source of this story, had this to share about the upcoming movie and the larger franchise which it is a part of:

Dougherty is also writing King of the Monsters, which has not yet revealed official plot details. Legendary previously announced, however, the addition of several more famous Toho kaiju, including Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah.

King of the Monsters is part of the Legendary and Warner Bros. cinematic Monsterverse, which also includes the upcoming Kong: Skull Island, due out in theaters on March 10.
