Golden Globe Awards 2012: Ricky Gervais Opening Monologue

Ricky Gervais, Golden Globe Awards 2012

Ricky Gervais 2012 Golden Globe Awards Opening Monologue. The Ricky Gervais 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards opening monologue didn’t have the mean-spiritedness present in last year’s monologue. The biting humor was still there though, described as “the skewering of stars by host and comedian Ricky Gervais who was just as bored as audiences and attendees. With…great digs at [Madonna], Johnny Depp, who even got in on some of the humor himself, Gervais killed again”.

Ricky Gervais is “a British comedian, actor, director, producer, musician and writer. Gervais achieved mainstream fame with his television series The Office and the subsequent series Extras, both of which he co-wrote and co-directed with friend and frequent collaborator Stephen Merchant. Besides writing and directing the shows, Gervais played the lead roles of David Brent in The Office and Andy Millman in Extras.”
