GOOSEBUMPS (2015) Movie Trailer 2: Jack Black’s Books Come to Life

Goosebumps Trailer 2 Arrives

Goosebumps Trailer 2. Rob Letterman‘s Goosebumps (2015) movie trailer stars Jack Black, Halston Sage, Dylan Minnette, and Amy RyanGoosebumps‘ plot synopsis: “A young kid teams up with the niece of young adult horror author R.L. Stine after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Greendale, Maryland.”

Am international, second trailer has been released for the filmic adaptation of R.L. Stine‘s moster-verse creations. You see, instead of adapting one particular story of his, the filmmakers decided to have someone play the author so they can use all the tools in the shed, or rather, all the monsters in Stein’s repertoire. This way there can be a new gimmicky entrance by a familiar creature every ten minutes, or so! Isn’t that exciting?

I’d be angry at this film if I cared more. If I were ten years younger and still adored those books, I’d have a real stake in this claim. But I don’t – time has passed, the books have been relegated to a time in my life where I was an entirely different human being, and I’m thankfully detached from whatever is going on in these trailers.

I would have recommended choosing one Goosebumps story – or several, and make an anthology film for Halloween – and focusing on being scary. This film looks like a Disney ride meant to entertain, instead of produce fear and mystery. What a shame.

Goosebumps also stars Odeya Rush, Ken Marino, Kumail Nanjiani, Jillian Bell, Jared Sandler, Ella Wahlestedt, Ryan Lee, Timothy Simons, Amanda Lund, Steven Krueger, and Karan Soni.
