GOTHAM: First Look at the Not-Batcave [Fox]

Gotham‘s Hidden Cave Bruce Wayne Discovered Last Season is Revealed. This morning, TV Insider released a screenshot from Gotham Season 2, displaying Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) peering into a cave adjacent to the brick walls of Wayne Manor and down a flight of stairs of (here) indistinguishable length.

When the entrance to this cave was revealed in the Season 1 Finale, Occam’s Razor suggested it was the famed Batcave of franchise lore, but according to Mazouz, it’s not: “It’s definitely not the Batcave. What is down there are clues to Thomas Wayne’s secret life and what he was trying to do before being killed.” For now, it remains unknown why this was not simply made the Batcave, or when the actual Batcave will come in, but perhaps we will learn more when Gotham returns on Monday, September 21.
