GOTHAM: Prenatal Robin Confirmed But No Harley Quinn…Yet
Showrunner Verifies the Graysons for Future Episode of Gotham. With Fox’s Gotham continuing to introduce characters from the Batman mythos, showrunner Bruno Heller talked about what other characters may appear in the famed city soon, including the Graysons.
In an interview with EW, Bruno Heller talked about adding Robin’s parents into the fold. “We’re going to do a prenatal origin story for Robin down the line,” Heller told the outlet. “There are no MRIs involved. There’s an episode coming up where we learn how Robin’s parents got together.”
Actor Ben McKenzie who plays Detective Jim Gordon on the show last teased about having the Graysons appear on the show. With Heller confirming this, we can expect the family of acrobats to appear in some form.
Heller also added that an upcoming episode would introduce Jonathan Crane, whom fans may know as the Scarecrow. “This is not a kid being a looney Scarecrow, this is a couple episodes about how that character has evolved — everyone’s character is formed in their childhood to some degree or another.”
However, one character we may not see anytime soon is the Joker’s partner-in-crime Harley Quinn.
We haven’t got Harley Quinn in it. Riddler’s girlfriend is coming up. And Harley Quinn is definitely planned for later on, but so far no…You can’t just keep pumping these characters into the show in a comic book sort of way, because you get the Super Friends effect — which isn’t a bad effect, but then you have spaceships and need to go underwater and get wacky villains and the rest of it. You have to work as a character piece first. First it has to be real.
Which villains do you think should show up on Gotham?
