Villains on the Rise in New Promo for Gotham. Detective Jim Gordon has a lot on his plate during Gotham’s second season with criminals coming from all directions, according to the new promo. Fox’s crime drama also had a first look at Michael Chiklis as Gotham’s new captain.

In the new promo ‘Villains Rise’, Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Captain Essen (Zabryna Guevara) are starting a new day at the GCPD as the criminal underworld has crumbled since the freshman finale. However, a new power rises in the form of billionaire criminal Theo Galvan (James Frain) and his femme fatale sister Tabitha AKA Tigress (Jessica Lucas). We also see the return of the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and an emerging Riddler (Cory Michael Smith). Still, the biggest baddie of them all, Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan) starts showing early signs of the Joker that we all know.

We even have a first image from EW showing our first glimpse of Captain Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis), who makes his debut in the fourth episode of the crime drama. His character is described as a “law and order zealot who lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force.” He will be a series regular starting with the fourth episode ‘Strike Force’.
