The Great Wall NYCC 2016 Trailer

The second movie trailer for The Great Wall (2016) premiered at the 2016 New York Comic Con. The first trailer was focused on mystery and spectacle. This trailer focuses on what it took for Matt Damon‘s character to earn a place in the fighting force stationed on The Great Wall of China. The scale of this production is pretty impressive. I am not a big fan of CGI monsters, humaniods, or hordes so that aspect of the trailer did very little for me.

What did a lot for me was the war aspects of the film and the fact that they actual shot the film on The Great Wall of China.

The Great Wall‘s plot synopsis: “Set in the Northern Song Dynasty, [the film focuses on the] …mystery centered around the construction of the Great Wall of China.”

Yimou Zhang‘s The Great Wall (2016) also stars Eddie Peng, Willem Dafoe, Kenny Lin, Pedro Pascal, Andy Lau, Tian Jing, Numan Acar, and Hanyu Zhang.
