Michael Gracey‘s The Greatest Showman (2017) movie trailer stars Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya. The Greatest Showman‘s plot synopsis: “Inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business & tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.”

I am not a big fan of musicals but I might have to make an exception for this film. Hugh Jackman was great in the musical Les Misérables, one the film’s best actor/singers in the film. He looks as though he will be the same type of asset in The Greatest Showman.

Hugh Jackman has had plenty of practice being a showman in front of a captive audience on-screen. Hugh Jackman played a magician in Christopher Nolan‘s excellent film The Prestige.

As a child, I went to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus numerous times. Never did I wonder whom the names of the circus belonged to. Now fans of that vast amusement production will get to know one of them and on the big screen.

The Greatest Showman also stars Paul Sparks, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Diahann Carroll, Fredric Lehne, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Tina Benko, Kristoffe Brodeur, Will Swenson, Doris McCarthy, and Chris Silcox.
