David Harbour To Play Hellboy in R-Rated Reboot

Even though fans won’t be getting a Hellboy 3 from Guillermo del Toro, creator Mike Mignola revealed that another film is in the works for the character as the franchise is getting an R-Rated reboot. The new version will be starring Stranger Things cast member David Harbour.

It was devastating news when Guillermo del Toro announced that a third installment of Hellboy was officially dead, but there is still a future for the half-demon hero on the big screen. Creator Mike Mignola shared some good news on his Facebook page revealing that there will be an R-Rated reboot to be directed by Neil Marshall, known for his work on The Descent and Game of Thrones. He added that David Harbour would be taking over from Ron Perlman as the iconic character.

Even though it’s sad that Perlman won’t be coming back to the role, David Harbour does seem like the perfect actor to bring the wisecracking hero to the big screen again. Neil Marshall has some credit under his belt directing some of the most action-packed episodes of Game of Thrones. More details were revealed when The Hollywood Reporter added that Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin from Millennium Films are producing the reboot along with Dark Horse Entertainment.
