The box office hit zombie film World War Z (2013) will street on DVD, Blu-ray, and 3D Blu-ray on September 17, 2013. Producer and star, Brad Pitt, has expressed his excitement about the impending release of the unrated cut versions of the film on the upcoming Blu-ray combo packs; only the 3D Blu-ray set will feature both the theatrical and unrated cut versions. Pitt plays a UN employee racing against time to stem a worldwide zombie pandemic and save humankind.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced it will release The Croods (2013) on DVD and Blu-ray October 1, 2013. The Dreamworks Animation film features the voice work of Nicholas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, and Emma Stone as a prehistoric family living in a land on the brink of extinction. Stone plays a rebellious teenaged daughter struggling to be understood by her conservative father. Through the course of various challenges for survival, both learn to have a better appreciation for each other and for family.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Extended Edition will arrive on Blu-ray November 5, 2013. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced it will release a 5-disc 3D Blu-ray disc combo pack (3D BD, BD, DVD, UV, and DC) as well as a standard 3-disc combo pack (BD, DVD, UV, and DC) for the 182 minute feature. All versions of the home release are currently available for pre-order with Amazon offering an exclusive 5-disc 3D BD combo pack with Bilbo/Gollum figurine.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Jordan Vogt-Rogers’ coming-of-age comedy The Kings of Summer (2013) on Blu-ray and DVD September 24, 2013. The film stars Nick Offerman, Moises Arias, Gabriel Basso, and Nick Robinson and follows three teenaged boys who run away from home to build a fort in the woods. They spend one eventful summer living off the land and learning the true meaning of family.

Christopher MacBride’s suspense thriller The Conspiracy (2012) will be released on home video by Arrow Films October 14, 2013 while opening in theaters across the UK a few days earlier on October 11th. The film examines two filmmakers who choose a street proselytizer conspiracy theorist to be the subject of their next film. At first, they regard him as a novelty source for new material until his theories start to make too much sense—then he disappears without a trace. Should they walk away or consider the thought his conspiracies may have had some merit?

Walt Disney Home Video will crack open the vault for a limited time to release Diamond Editions of two beloved classics: The Jungle Book and Sleeping Beauty. The Jungle Book will debut on Blu-ray February 11, 2014 and Sleeping Beauty will be re-released on Blu-ray on an unspecified date in October of 2014.
