The New Zealand film Boy (2010) will receive a North American home entertainment release on July 9, 2013. Director Taika Waititi‘s dramedy stars James Rolleston, Te Aho Aho Eketone-Whitu, Cherilee Martin, and the director in a story about an 11-year-old boy coming to terms with the reality of his absentee father versus the fantasies he had built around him.

Lionsgate will release LD Entertainment‘s Disconnect (2012) on Blu-ray and DVD September 17, 2013. The Henry Alex Rubin film starring Jason Bateman, Frank Grillo, Michael Nyqvist, Andrea Riseborough, Alexander Skarsgard, and Paula Patton weaves together the stories of seeming strangers attempting to forge a human connection in today’s digital world.

Neil Jordan, director of The Crying Game and Mona Lisa, will see his latest film, Byzantium (2012), hit the small screen courtesy of IFC Films and MPI Home Video. The stylish vampire flick releases October 29, 2013—just in time for Halloween.

Disney Home Entertainment has announced the details of its Iron Man 3 (2013) home entertainment release. The film will be released on 3D Blu-ray, 2D Blu-ray, and DVD on September 24, 2013. Special features include a gag reel, deleted and extended scenes, audio commentary, a behind-the-scenes look at Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Air Force One stunt scene. The movie starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Don Cheadle is one of the highest grossing films ever.

Walt Disney Home Entertainment plans to release a 20th Anniversary Blu-ray edition of Tim Burton‘s The Nightmare Before Christmas on September 10, 2013. It will be available in two editions: a 3-disc set with 3D Blu-ray disc, 2D Blu-ray disc, DVD, and Digital Copy and a 2-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

The Discovery Channel‘s 7-episode series North America will come to Blu-ray October 1, 2013 packaged as a 2-disc set with a 32 page color photo booklet. The documentary, which was three years in the making, examines the North American terrain and the flora and fauna that inhabit it from the Canadian tundra to the rain forests of Panama.

Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg‘s fictionalized account of Thor Heyerdahl‘s voyage from South America to Polynesia, Kon-Tiki (2012) was chosen to represent Norway in the Best Foreign Language Film Category at the 85th Annual Academy Awards. The release will be available for purchase August 27, 2013.
