HOUSE OF STRAW (2015) Short Film: A Domestic Dispute Between Werewolf & Wife

House of Straw Short Film

Kyle Bogart‘s House of Straw (2015) short film stars Liz Beckham, Joseph Garlock, and Jason Newman. House of Straw‘s plot synopsis: “It’s six o’clock and Emma has a lot to do before sunset. But a domestic dispute threatens to throw a wrench in the gears. As disagreements turn into accusations, she has precious little time to lock her husband away before their monstrous secret begins to break free.”

This short film starts out perfectly innocuous. There is the purchase of produce and subsequent presentation of a rocky marriage. What it becomes is very surprising. This film, in some ways, reminded me of Paranormal Activity.

The wife is the only character whom the viewer gets to know during House of Straw. It’s the wife’s inner torment that the viewer can understand the most. The lycanthrope was an enigma from beginning to end. This short film is treated as if it were a segment of a feature length film, like the Whiplash Short Film.
