I Am Chris Farley Movie Trailer Has Been Released. Brent Hodge and Derik Murray‘s I Am Chris Farley (2015) movie trailer stars Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Christina Applegate, Mike Myers, Bob Odenkirk, and Dan Akroyd. I Am Chris Farley‘s plot synopsis: “A documentary on the life of comedian, Chris Farley.”

I’m a sucker for documentaries that lionize the dead, especially when I already like them. Chris Farley was a hilarious performer. I remember him from various SNL sketches and appearances in Adam Sandler movies. He died at 33 from an overdose, if I recall correctly, and his death sent shockwaves through all of those fellow performers close to him. It seems the world lost a bright, shining star, and the story of why and how is sadly all too familiar.

This trailer makes it seem like the documentary is largely talking heads, plus footage we’ve all seen, taken from the television. Having recently seen the incredibly Asif Kapadia film, Amy, in which we’re treated to a complete life through personal and public footage, this is slightly disappointing. However, I will definitely watch this upon release, and I’m sure it’ll be thoroughly entertaining for those who are interested in the comedy world, behind the scenes footage, etc.
