The I Saw the Devil Movie Trailer has premiered. I Saw the Devil (2010) is directed by Kim Ji-Woon and stars Choi Min-sik and Lee Byung-hun. I Saw the Devil‘s plot synopsis: “When a special agent’s (Lee Byung-hun) fiancée is murdered by a serial killer (Choi Min-sik), he must become a monster in turn to avenge her death.” Once I heard that seven minutes had been cut from this film because of content, I had to check this film out. My feeling was accurate: this horror film looks fantastic. Choi Min-sik was great in Oldboy and Lee Byung -hun was good in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, especially towards the end of the film. I have not seen a good serial killer film in some time. This looks like the film The Red Dragon should have been, if it were not for the absurd amount of Hannibal Lecter worship (that wasn’t even in the book) but I digress. I Saw the Devil opens in August 11, 2010 in South Korea. No word on when it will be released in the US but I will be watching for it. I Saw the Devil could be this years’ Martyrs.
