In a Heartbeat Short Film

Esteban Bravo and Beth David‘s In a Heartbeat (2017) short film stars Nicholas J. Ainsworth and Kelly Donohue. In a Heartbeat‘s plot synopsis: “A closeted boy runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.”

In the recent months, I have seen short films that have run between seventeen minutes to nearly half an hour. Many of those short films pack a well-developed punch. In a Heartbeat delivers a punch in four minutes. Not a leveling punch, not a punch that screams that the short film should be made into a full-fledged motion picture, but a punch. A soft, sweet, and endearing punch that lands delicately on the viewer’s cheek.

In a Heartbeat only cost five thousand dollars to complete but it looks like it cost more than that. In a Heartbeat looks far higher end, a film that Disney might dream up and then produced.
