This Week

I never watched the first Fifty Shades of Grey film and have even less interest in watching the sequel. I started reading the first book simply because of the Grey character and his secret.  The surrounding story was not strong enough to hold my interest. I can’t imagine that the stripped down narrative in the film will hold more interest for me.

The Void looks derivative of other films but the resulting film does look interesting. Interesting enough to rent the film from Red Box on a Saturday evening to watch over a pizza with friends.

Heat is being released in a new Blu-ray edition. When the 4K-Ultra version is released, it will bring the film one step closer to the quality that the lucky viewer saw when Heat was released in theater.

Get Out was a far better film than I had been expecting when I first sat down to watch it. Luckily I had not seen the trailer for the film. That saved all the surprises for the film itself. I wasn’t just waiting for something that I had already seen in the trailer to happen in the film. I reviewed the film here and the film was also reviewed in FilmBookCast.
