IN THE HEART OF THE SEA (2015) Movie Trailer 4: Chris Hemsworth Has A Whale Of A Time

In The Heart Of The Sea Movie Trailer 4. Ron Howard‘s In The Heart Of The Sea (2015) movie trailer 4 stars Chris HemsworthBrendan Gleeson and Ben WishawIn The Heart Of The Sea‘s plot synopsis: “Based on the 1820 event, a whaling ship is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days, thousands of miles from home.”

Ron Howard is a curious filmmaker. In my mind, he makes the sort of films that your parents or old couples see, when they decide to venture to the cinema without any foreknowledge or research or cinephile intellect. Sure, he’s made some really great films (Apollo 13Ransom, Rush), but his auteur stamp seems mostly to consist of making middle-of-the-road, four quadrant family films with little to no visceral danger or edge to them. Not that every director needs that, but…well, I guess my point is essentially that Ron Howard is the white bread of film directors, to me, personally. And I simply can’t muster up enough energy or conviction to watch his latest, which has Chris Hemsworth adrift a CGI swimming pool where the colors are all miscorrected.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
