JAMES BOND 23: Javier Bardem is Villain in Sam Mendes’ Film

Javier Bardem, Biutiful

Javier Bardem is the villain in Sam MendesBond 23. Javier Bardem has been cast as the main villain in the 23rd James Bond film to be directed by Sam Mendes. Javier Bardem endeared himself to many film fans with his villain Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men. Hearing that he has signed on to Bond 23 is great news. Javier Bardem confirmed the news last night to Christiane Amanpour on Nightline during an interview. “I am very excited. My parents took me to watch the movies and I saw all of them. So to play that is going to be fun” and continued “They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.”

I loved Sam Mendes work in American Beauty and Road to Perdition so I am looking forward to the artistic eye he brings to Bond 23. I really hope they give Javier Bardem good dialogue so that he can bring a three dimensional person to life. Along with Javier Bardem, the film’s cast already includes Ralph Fiennes, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Judi Dench, Helen McCrory, and Ben Whishaw.
