John Wick: Chapter Three Official Release Date Revealed

The official release date for John Wick: Chapter Three has been revealed by Lionsgate. The third John Wick film will be released on May 17, 2019.

A third film in the John Wick film franchise was inevitable. The second John Wick film built upon what the first film had accomplished and broadened it, deepening mythos and industries in the John Wick universe. It was obvious John Wick: Chapter Two‘s budget was far higher than the first film – getting the permits for the opening NYC car scene must have cost thousands of dollars.

The action and storylines in the second film were also more aggrandized than the first film, though not as heart-felt since John Wick (Keanu Reeves) had gotten the revenge he sought for his killed dog and stolen car.

For those that didn’t see the film, John Wick: Chapter Two‘s plot synopsis: “Keanu Reeves returns in the sequel to the 2014 hit as legendary hitman John Wick who is forced to back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.”

No plot synopsis for John Wick: Chapter Three has been released yet but from the ending of John Wick: Chapter Two, ever hitman or hitwoman in the world is going to be after him because of the multi-million dollar bounty on his head. I hope John Wick uses the hour that he was given wisely.

Besides Keanu Reeves, Chad Stahelski‘s John Wick: Chapter Two also starred Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Ruby Rose, Laurence Fishburne, Peter Stormare, John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick, Common, Thomas Sadoski, Heidi Moneymaker, Aly Mang, Riccardo Scamarcio, Toshiko Onizawa, and Marko Caka.
