Jupiter's Legacy

Mark Miler to Bring Jupiter’s Legacy Into the Big Screen. Mark Miller is keeping himself busy as the comic book writer is looking to adapt his comic series Jupiter’s Legacy into a film. Miller will be teaming with Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura for this film project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller and Lorenzo are looking for writers for this upcoming film. Comparing the series to Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, the comic writer spoke up about this grand endeavor saying:

It’s a story I’ve been thinking about for the past five years. It’s a massively ambitious project and planned as an enormous trilogy, the first one being I think the best thing I’ve ever written…What I’m proposing here is a universe of characters, who have been around for a while and a vast network and world we can play with…This kind of scale, this event-level storyline, is something I don’t think I’d have been ready for before. This is what I’ve been building to.

Co-created with Frank Quietly, Mark Miller’s Jupiter Legacy tells the story of the offspring of Earth’s greatest superheroes who fail to live up to their parents’ reputation. However, a family battle ensues causing one half to stage a rebellion while the other half goes into hiding. The war at home soon becomes a war that has drastic consequences with the world.

The series recently wrapped up its five-issue run; with a prequel series Jupiter’s Circle is hitting shelves this month.

This marks Miller’s fifth comic book series being adapted for the big screen with Wanted, Kick-Ass, and Kingsman: The Secret Service all becoming films based on his work with his next one being an adaptation of Chrononauts. Lorenzo is also helping develop Miller’s other comic MPH for the big screen.
