Daniella Pineda Slated To Play Role In Jurassic World 2

Sleeping With Other People actress Daniella Pineda will join the cast of J.A. Bayona‘s upcoming blockbuster sequel Jurassic World 2.

In addition to her role in the aforementioned romantic comedy, Pineda is known for her appearances on the small screen. Most notably, she portrayed Sophie Deveraux on The CW‘s popular The Vampire Diaries series as well as its spin-off program The Originals. Jurassic World 2 will mark Pineda’s return to feature films after a two-year gap between it and 2015’s Other People.

Several other actors have already been announced for the production, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard being confirmed to reprise their roles from the previous film. Meanwhile, newcomers attached to the project are Toby Jones, Justice Smith, and Rafe Spall. While Colin Trevorrow has ceded directorial duties to Bayona, he will nevertheless contribute the script for the movie.

According to Superherohype:

Trevorrow previously revealed the quote from the original Jurassic Park that inspired their idea for the sequel, which comes from Sam Neil’s Alan Grant: “Dinosaurs and man, two species separated by 65 million years of evolution have just been suddenly thrown back into the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?”

“Every story is different and you need to find the depth of every story and try to express it on the screen,” Bayona recently told CS.
