Geraldine Chaplin Joins The Cast Of Jurassic World 2

Golden Globe-nominated Doctor Zhivago actress Geraldine Chaplin is slated to play a role in JA Bayona‘s planned science fiction blockbuster sequel Jurassic World 2.

The news was broken yesterday by the director when he announced on Twitter that his “good luck charm” would be once again joining him for the Jurassic World follow-up. This was a reference to the extensive experience Chaplin and Bayona have with each other, with the actress playing a role in each of his films to date. Of course, Chaplin’s reputation very much precedes her, being the daughter of silent film legend Charlie Chaplin and playing roles such high-profile projects as Nashville, The Age of Innocence, and Richard Attenborough’s biopic of her father Chaplin.

It isn’t clear what her exact role will be in the movie, but it is known she will act alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as well as newcomers Toby Jones, Ted Levine, and James Cromwell.

Superherohype, the source of this story, quoted Bayona as follows:

“Every story is different and you need to find the depth of every story and try to express it on the screen,” Bayona recently told CS. “The ‘Jurassic World’ sequel is a more collaborative filmmaker experience, not only with Colin Trevorrow, but also with Steven [Spielberg] and with Frank Marshall. It’s their baby as much as it is mine.
