Justice League‘s plot synopsis: “Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”

This film looks far better than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice but far less interesting than Suicide Squad (that is, until you actually sat down to watch Suicide Squad that is).

The Justice League trailer is packed with action set pieces but very little exposition – a good thing. I have seen far too many trailers lately that gave away the major events in the second and third acts of their respective films. This trailer didn’t do that. Instead, the trailer delivered on showing the viewer a multitude of reasons why this film might fulfill the promise of the two previously released DC films. It also showed why the viewer might be in for more of the same.

The good – The trailer is made up almost entirely of new footage. The viewer is soon the world that director Zak Synder has created for his band of heroes to inhabit. The viewer is shown more of Bruce Wayne’s travels to gather his team (like in the San Diego Comic Con footage) as well as each protagonist’s particular skill set.

The bad – There is a lot of CGI in this trailer, a whole heck of a lot. Seeing the generic, CGI bad guys (or creatures in this case) made me groan. Seeing the CGI version of the actors and characters they were portraying did nothing for me.

Justice League also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kiersey Clemons, J.K. Simmons, Jeremy Irons, Willem Dafoe, Shalini Peiris, Jared Leto, Henry Cavill, Amber Heard, Amy Adams.
