JUSTICE LEAGUE: Christopher Nolan running DC Universe, Batman is Bale?

Superman Batman

Christopher Nolan running DCU, Christian Bale reprising Batman? It seems with The Avengers 2 and the other superhero properties looming in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Two, Warner Bros. has entered talks with director Christopher Nolan to oversee the DC Universe. If it happens, possibly with director Zack Snyder, David S. Goyer, and Nolan’s brother in tow, Christopher Nolan would help to shepherd Justice League to the big screen along with other DC comic book films.

If this eventuality happens, Bale would surely reprise his role as Batman for the Justice League movie and possibly a forth Batman movie. Nolan is the only person Bale would reprise the role of Batman for. As Christian Bale said to Empire Magazine last summer, he “wouldn’t be against reprising the role, as long as the story was right. I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work”. He is reportedly in talks to reprise the Batman role in Justice League if Christoper Nolan is indeed involved and the new “Godfather” of the DCU at Warner Bros. “The studio allegedly wants the film to be set in the same universe as Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, which naturally means a return of Bale’s Batman. Not only that, but Justice League would also tie in with Snyder’s gritty Man of Steel, which means – you guessed it – Bale’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman would appear in the same universe, in the same movie, at the same time.”

Warner Bros. wants in on The Avengers bank role in a big way and they are willing to pay “through the nose” for it. They want the franchise, they want the success. They saw what Nolan did for with Batman franchise and I am guessing they made him a financial and project control offer that he could not refuse. A deal that would set up his grand children’s grand children for life. My guess: some type of ownership in Warner Bros. and back-end of every film he is involved in no matter what format the projects are reformatted or used for the future e.g. Blu-rays, video games, theme park rides, ring tones, you name it. They probably threw it all in to get Nolan at that table and are willing to part with it.

I don’t blame them. Alone, The Avengers has made over $1.5 Billion worldwide.

If true, what are your thoughts on Nolan taking over the entire DC Universe and Christian Bale returning as Batman for a fourth time?
